Title

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING USE REGULATIONS - SPECIAL EXCEPTION STANDARDS - PRIVATE SCHOOLS for the purpose of exempting certain private school uses in a Residential Zone from the requirement for special exception approval.

Background

This bill exempts private schools in the Residential, Rural Zone from special exception approval under limited circumstances. Specifically, private schools in the RR Zone would be permitted by right if the use is proposed to occupy a building that is currently or was previously used as a school. Additionally, the proposed private school site must not abut residential properties to qualify for the exemption from special exception approval.
