Title

AN ACT CONCERNING AFFORDABLE RENTAL HOUSING SEARCH PORTAL for the purpose of requiring the Department of Housing and Community Development to establish and maintain a property listing portal as a service for residents to search affordable rental properties throughout Prince George’s County; requiring the portal to be searchable by certain information; requiring regular updating of the portal; and generally relating to affordable rental housing in Prince George’s County.

 

Background

This bill will require the Department of Housing and Community Development to develop and maintain on its website a search portal where residents can search for affordable rental housing in the County. It specifies that properties listed be affordable to households earning no more than 80% of area median income, and that they be searchable by property name, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, unit type, location, and monthly rent. The search portal shall be updated not less than weekly.
