Background
To enable the Planning Department to study the available data on the impacts of data centers in other jurisdictions. In response, the Planning Department has been compiling a significant amount of information detailing issues associated with data center development including matters such as the demand data centers impose on energy, water, sewer and other public and private utilities, environmental impacts, employment, and tax revenues. This study will assist the County in developing the proper legislation and regulatory framework to address the future development and operation of such uses. No fiscal impact to the county budget.
